Morning session
(Non Tech)

Whether you are joining us for the full day (Tech) or half the day (Non Tech) you will get a good foundation in sourcing.

All participants take part in the morning session where we will go through Boolean, Linkedin and Personal Branding.

You can read more about each module in detail here on the right.

Boolean

Boolean is the foundation of all sourcing. Without knowing how to wrote a good search string is will be hard finding what you want to find.

In this module we’ll go beyond AND OR NOT and learn how to build complex search strings to find what we are looking for. We will then use this knowledge throughout the day.

LinkedIn

Most recruiters have Linkedin as their main tool. But are we using LinkedIn in the best possible way?

We will look at the diffrence between a basic LinkedIn account and Linkedin Recruiter. We will also look at how the way you write your search might affect the search result.

How can you find those candidates other recruiters won’t?

Personal Branding

Who you are and how you are percieved by others matters when you work wwith recruitment. We will look at how you can stick out, in a positive way, amongst all others recruiters out there.

Perhaps you might be able to have the candidates turn to you voluntarily when it’s time for the to find a new job?

Github

You can find a lot of developers on Github. We will look at how to understand a Github profile, how to find people on Github and how we can use the information we find there to better reach out to potential candidates.

Meetup

Meetup.com is a site where you can create groups about various topics and create events to meet up with people with a common interest. It’s very popular amongst developers.

We will look at what kind of information can you find on meetup.com and how you can use it to your advantage when looking for potential candidates.

Stackoverflow

Stackoverflow is a Q&A forum for developers all over the world. In other words a great source for us trying to recruit developers.

During Sourcingskolan we will learn how to understand a Stackoverflow porfile and how to use the information we find there to our advantage.

Stackoverflow does offer a paid version for recruiters, but we will look at how we can use it for free.

Candidate Outreach

Finding candidates is not enough, we have to contact them too. There are many ways to reach out to a potential candidate, anything from phone, and inmail, e-mail and Messenger.

We will discuss what works and what doesn’t.

We will also look at how to write a compelling message that stands out, and doesn’t sound like just another recruitment message.

One thing’s for sure, starting you message with ”Hi, my name is X and I works as a recruiter and I came across your profile on LinkedIn” is not good enough.

Afternoon Session
(Tech)

The afternoon session are for those of you attending Sourcingskolan Tech. We will now apply all the knowledge we learnt in the morning session on how to find tech talent.

We will take a closer look at online forums such as Github, Stackoverflow and Meetup.
